COURSE FEES

All Dowra fees will be payable upon arrival in Tarim, before accommodation is granted.
 

  1. Single Students: USD$600 per person
     
    • Includes: accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, travel costs for visitations within Tarim and any course materials. 
    • Excludes: travel costs (airfares, buses and any visas).
    • Students who are looking to arrive early or depart later (i.e. stay longer than the Dowra period) will be charged for additional days.
    • Those who will not be attending the full Dowra (e.g. 15 days) need to fill in the application form and state their intended travel dates under Section 4. The cost will then be adjusted according to the number of days the applicant is staying in Tarim. 
       
  2. Couples or Families w/Private Accommodation: varies (see below)
     
    • For those staying in private accommodation for either the full or part of the Dowra, costs will vary subject to the number of people in attendance. Applicants will be notified of the cost once their application has been submitted. Below is an approximate guide of the relevant costs associated with your stay:
    • Accommodation Cost: The Ma'unah office is responsible for this. They have various apartments and buildings in Tarim (around Dar al-Mustafa). The Dowra Admin team will assist in arranging private accommodation via the Ma'unah office, but payment/s will need to be made directly to them upon arrival.
       
      • Apartment 1: USD$16/night
        - 2 bedroom, kitchen, toilet, A/C Units and 24hr electricity, w/internet
        - 5mins to Dar al-Mustafa and Dar al-Zahra
         
      • Apartment 2: USD$9/night
        - 1 bedroom, kitchen, toilet, A/C Units and 24hr electricity, w/internet
        - 2-3mins to Dar al-Mustafa, 5-10mins to Dar al-Zahra
         
      • Apartment 3: USD$13/night
        - 2 bedroom, kitchen, toilet, A/C Units and 24hr electricity, w/internet
        - 10-15mins to Dar al-Mustafa, 15-20mins to Dar al-Zahra
         
      • Apartment 4: USD$20/night
        - 3 bedroom, kitchen, toilet, A/C Units and 24hr electricity, w/internet

      • Apartment 5: USD$15/night
        - a small apartment for 6 people
        - kitchen, toilet, A/C Units and 24hr electricity, w/internet
         
    • Excludes: meals, travel costs (airfares, buses and any visas).
    • Meals will cost approximately USD$5/day per person (inc. breakfast, lunch and dinner) and will be delivered to families.
    • Couples or families who will not be attending the full Dowra (e.g. 15 days) need to fill in the application form and state their intended travel dates under Section 4. The cost will then be adjusted according to the number of days the applicant is staying in Tarim. 
       

TRAVEL COST GUIDE

Below is an approximate guide to costs not included in the Dowra package that both single students and families should be aware of. These costs are intended as a guide only and may be subject to change:

  1. via Salalah, Oman
    • Hotel: USD$50/night (subject to location and quality)
    • Airport Shuttle (to hotel): USD$20
    • Visa Entry into Oman: USD$100
    • Transport (to Tarim): USD$36 per person
       
  2. via Seiyun
    • Cairo to Seiyun: USD$480 (one way) / USD$950 (return)
    • Amman to Seiyun: USD$1,260
    • Khartoum to Seiyun: USD$400 (one way) / USD$800 (return)

Note: Flights flying into and out of Seiyun Airport are subject to frequent cancellations and are typically rescheduled for another time in the same week.
